Petroliam Nasional Berhad clinches the Malaysia Customer Experience of the Year - Oil & Gas accolade at the Asian Experience Awards for Innovation in the Oil & Gas Industry

Its innovative visitor registration system creates a secure and welcoming environment for both guests and employees in Petroliam Nasional Berhad premises.

Petroliam Nasional Berhad, the global energy giant, has added another feather to its cap by receiving the coveted Malaysia Customer Experience of the Year - Oil & Gas category at the Asian Experience Awards 2023.

Petroliam Nasional Berhad is a global energy and solutions company ranked amongst the largest corporations on the Fortune Global 500®. Guided by its vision to be a leading oil and gas multinational of choice, it delivers innovative and sustainable solutions across the energy value chain across more than 50 countries with 120 subsidiaries and equity investments.

Amongst the innovations the company has established is allowing organisations to redefine their approach to welcome visitors, creating a secure and welcoming environment for all through a cutting-edge visitor management solution that offers a seamless and modernised experience, enhancing security, efficiency, and overall visitor satisfaction. Petroliam Nasional Berhad brings this to life with its Meeting Experience System (MEET) technology.

MEET streamlines the registration process for Petroliam Nasional Berhad, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free entry for guests. With intuitive self-registration, visitors can easily input their information and capture necessary documents anytime, anywhere. MEET's comprehensive suite of features includes pre-registration options, real-time monitoring, and comprehensive reporting, expediting, and enhancing efficiency on the enablement for visitors to enter the company premises.

In safeguarding Petroliam Nasional Berhad premises, MEET enables physical access control and monitoring by accurately tracking the building entries and exits of individuals, thereby preventing unauthorized access. MEET performs background and blacklist checks to identify potential threats and risks in advance.

MEET's primary objective is to elevate the experience of visitor management systems across all Petroliam Nasional Berhad sites by streamlining the multiple and siloed existing systems. MEET serves as the single source of truth for visitors’ data and provides valuable insights to Petroliam Nasional Berhad.

By leveraging advanced technologies like cloud computing, biometrics, and optical character recognition, MEET becomes a centralised platform in digitising visitor registration and physical access control experience. The solution simplifies processes, enhances security measures, and provides a seamless experience for both Petroliam Nasional Berhad visitors and hosts.

The initiative began by identifying the needs of relevant stakeholders within the Petroliam Nasional Berhad ecosystem. Amongst the prevalent identified pain points gathered from internal discussions and consultations with various levels of employees were long waiting times, security concerns, manual paperwork, and lack of visitor data management.

Meanwhile, a plug-in known as 'MEET Assistant' has been integrated into Microsoft Outlook's meeting calendar request to simplify the invitation process. This allows the hosts to create and send a single invitation, comprising the calendar invite with self-registration link. Hosts can monitor their visitors' registration status through the 'MEET Dashboard' and may remind the invited visitor to register before the meeting.

Petroliam Nasional Berhad's external visitors were also considered important stakeholders, and their needs were gathered through feedback surveys and observations. “This elevates MEET to evolve towards a world-class visitor management system that enhances visitors' experiences whilst fostering compliance through safety and security protocols for Petroliam Nasional Berhad premises,” the company said.
