YAYASAN PAHANG recognised for government data management at Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026

The initiative enabled systematic tracking and analysis of hafazan performance across thousands of preschools.

YAYASAN PAHANG received an accolade in the Data Management - Government Organisation category at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for developing the Sistem Pemantauan Hafazan Pra Tahfiz Kemas (myTahfiz), a digital platform used to record and monitor Quran memorisation progress amongst preschool students participating in the TABIKA KEMAS Pre-Tahfiz Programme.

The initiative formed part of a collaboration with the Bahagian Pendidikan Awal Kanak-Kanak under Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat (KEMAS) to support structured Quran-based early childhood education. The programme adopted a hafazan module developed by Tadika Tahfiz Negeri Pahang (TTNP), which provided a framework for preschool students to memorise selected surahs through staged learning levels.

myTahfiz enabled teachers to record students’ memorisation progress directly through a digital interface instead of manual record books. Each student’s development was tracked through five levels of memorisation, starting from five surahs and progressing to more than 20 surahs. The system also standardised reporting formats used across participating TABIKA centres, allowing programme administrators to review student progress using a consistent dataset.

The platform included separate tools for teachers and administrators. Teachers used a mobile application to enter weekly memorisation achievements for each student. Programme administrators accessed dashboards that displayed aggregated information on participation, progress levels, and regional performance across TABIKA centres. The system also allowed monitoring at multiple administrative levels, including parliamentary constituencies, states, and national headquarters.

A pilot implementation took place in 2024 before nationwide rollout in 2025. Approximately 140,000 TABIKA KEMAS students participated in the programme across Malaysia, with data submitted regularly by teachers using the digital system. The platform also reduced the need for manual compilation of records and simplified reporting processes for teachers and administrators involved in the programme.

The system created a centralised platform for tracking memorisation progress within the TABIKA KEMAS Pre-Tahfiz Programme. Data recorded in myTahfiz allowed programme administrators to review student performance across regions and identify areas requiring additional teaching support.
