WIR Group secures big win at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2022 with IseeAR Technology

WIR Group once again proves its expertise in providing innovative and effective digital technology products and solutions with the IseeAR technology

PT WIR ASIA Tbk (WIR Group), the leading Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology company in Southeast Asia that holds 5 (five) global patents for AR registered with the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), has received an Indonesia Technology Excellence Award for Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality – Technology at the recently held Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2022 for its 3D display technology innovation, IseeAR.

The Asian Technology Excellence Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the Asia Pacific region and aims to recognise exceptional companies that are riding the digital disruption wave and leading the technological revolution and digital transformation journeys in their respective industries.

According to him, IseeAR is the result of the work by AR&Co, a WIR Group unit that provides Augmented Reality-based technology solutions to transform two-dimensional (2D) graphics into visual 3D objects in a video conference session, in order to create a unique and realistic virtual interaction. 

“When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world in early 2020, we developed IseeAR as a solution to overcome physical restrictions. As it turned out, IseeAR is able to present a realistic, impressive, and immersive virtual experience that helps in many activities that require strong visuals, such as sales, education, and various face-to-face presentations that were hampered during the pandemic,” explained Michael.

The technology is also very easy to use because it only requires a simple additional webcam available on the market, or a built-in webcam on a desktop or laptop. “With such simple supporting device, you are ready to use IseeAR on video conference platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. This makes IseeAR a user-friendly and convenient technology, even for common users,” said Michael.

“The useability of IseeAR has also been proven by Cakap, an educational technology application developer start-up from Indonesia which focuses on a two-way online education system,” he added. Through collaboration with WIR Group, Cakap implemented IseeAR for its online Chinese language learning programme Mandarin For Kids.

The implementation was specifically targeted for children, where the technology is used to present realistic 3D virtual objects to help students better understand the lessons. IseeAR’s technology makes lessons effective and interesting, two important qualities in teaching kids.
