OGAWA wins Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for AI-powered wellness innovation

OVERSEER has redefined how massage therapy can be delivered through intelligent, data-driven personalisation.

Healthy World Lifestyle Sdn Bhd (OGAWA) has won the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 in the AI – Health Products & Services category for its proprietary artificial intelligence control system, OVERSEER™, marking the second time the brand has received the award.

The recognition underscores OGAWA’s leadership in wellness technology, particularly in integrating artificial intelligence to deliver personalised massage therapy experiences.

At the core of the innovation is OVERSEER™, an AI-powered control suite that functions as the intelligent “brain” of OGAWA massage chairs. Using precision neural sensors and advanced body-scanning technology, the system analyses posture, muscle stiffness, fatigue levels, and body composition before automatically generating a personalised massage programme tailored to the user’s condition.

In 2024, OGAWA expanded OVERSEER™’s capabilities from 5,000 to more than 10,800 intelligent massage techniques, enabling the system to dynamically adjust massage techniques, pressure and sequences for highly personalised experiences.

The technology powers OGAWA’s flagship massage chair, BIOVIS, which has received strong market response and endorsements from Farm Fresh COO Encik Azmi Zainal and radio announcer and entrepreneur Mr Chan Fong.

The effectiveness of massage programmes created by OVERSEER™ AI technology has also been supported by academic research. In collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia, studies found that continuous use of these programmes helped reduce systolic blood pressure by up to 7.6% and diastolic blood pressure by up to 10%.

Separately, a study conducted with Universiti Malaya showed users experienced 81% improvement in blood circulation and 88% improvement in sleep quality.

OGAWA is also the only wellness brand to publish its research findings in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics, reinforcing its commitment to evidence-based wellness technology.
