
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls clinches 2 accolades at Asian Experience Awards 2025
The company emerged as the recipient of the Philippines Customer Experience of the Year - Retail and Philippines Brand Experience of the Year - Dining & Entertainment categories.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls has continued leading the way in inclusive retail and experiential dining, with its campaigns being recognised at the Asian Experience Awards 2025.
Pet-friendly retail
The mall pioneered a pet-friendly campaign that began at Eastwood City in 2004 and has now grown into a nationwide movement.
Eastwood City was the first mall in the country officially recognised by the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) as pet-friendly. Today, with over two-thirds of Filipino households owning pets, Megaworld has expanded this initiative across multiple developments and built an integrated pet-friendly ecosystem featuring parks, stroller rentals, hydration stations, and a curated mix of retail and pet care services.
This campaign aims to boost foot traffic through pet-focused experiences, engage pet-owning households via personalised services and platforms, and foster long-term loyalty through community and care.
A part of this is the Digital Pet Pass, which is a QR-based platform that stores pet profiles, vaccination records, and mall entry access in one digital system. It has over 100,000 pets registered and has eliminated paperwork and streamlined access.
Megaworld raised the bar once more in September 2024 with the introduction of Paw Club Access, the country’s first digital rewards programme for pet owners. With this, members earn points from purchases, event participation, and app engagement.
In its first three months, the programme onboarded 2,000 users, registered 4,000 pets, and recorded 1.5 million page views. Participating merchants also saw a significant increase in foot traffic and sales.
Aside from services and technology, Megaworld also forged partnerships with animal welfare organisations and held flagship events like the annual Pet Blessing, free vet consultations, adoption drives, and educational seminars.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls has embraced every member of the family, including the four-legged ones. Through advocacy, innovation, and community, the company has redefined what it means to be truly inclusive.
Experiential dining
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls has turned dining into a full-sensory journey of culture, creativity, and connection through its two-phase campaign, Taste the World and World of Flavors.
Taste the World, launched in 2024, brought global flavours to local tables through themed food festivals, interactive food crawls, and digital events like the TikTok Food Fest. The campaign fused food, music, and entertainment and invited guests to discover the stories behind global cuisines.
The campaign evolved in 2025 into World of Flavors, which shifted the spotlight to the chefs and visionaries behind the cuisine. It involved in-restaurant storytelling and chef features, which made diners more connected with the craft and culture behind each dish.
The momentum culminated in headline-making openings, starting with the Philippine debut of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill at Newport City’s Newport World Resorts. The launch included an exclusive chef showcase at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, with Ramsay himself leading live demos alongside Filipino culinary talents.
This was followed by the opening of Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger at The Mactan Newtown in Cebu. Meanwhile, Morton’s The Steakhouse arrived at Uptown Bonifacio, alongside more global names and homegrown, chef-driven concepts across various Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
This strategy achieved culinary excellence and, more importantly, created a full-spectrum experience in Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. By merging global flavours with local storytelling, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls made dining an entertainment and an emotion.
