Converge ICT Solutions Inc. honoured at Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2025

The broadband provider earned an accolade for bringing prepaid fiber to underserved communities.

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. earned recognition for Philippines Community Engagement Innovation of the Year - Telecommunications at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2025.

This accolade lauds the company’s Surf2Sawa (S2S) initiative which delivers prepaid fiber broadband under the principle unli, mura, walang kontrata (unlimited, affordable, no contract).

Designed for value-seeking families, S2S combines flexible load-based plans with strong community engagement. It offers daily, weekly, and monthly plans, whilst delivering stable and fast wired fiber as opposed to mobile signals.

“The key challenge was affordability without compromising reliability. With inflation steadily eroding household purchasing power and studies showing that internet expenses already take up a significant share of family budgets, Filipino households urgently need options that make every peso count,” the company said.

Through local initiatives like BRGY. S2S, Dance2Sawa competitions, and celebrity-led Sugod Barangays, the programme blends digital inclusion with cultural connection.

BRGY. S2S supports local sari-sari stores with merchandise, installs food carts, and offers free services like haircuts and massages. Dance2Sawa is a barangay-based competition where contestants reimagine the S2S jingle. Lastly, Sugod Barangays are livestreamed variety shows hosted by celebrities to bring the internet closer to homes by surprising winners with free fiber connections.

S2S also advances inclusive growth by training housewives and moms as community-based agents, equipping them with digital literacy and sustainable income opportunities. It also launched a P-pop girl group MAMAMO, tapping celebrity moms as ambassadors to connect with more Filipinos. The campaign reimagines pop idols as moms, celebrating them as household decision-makers.

The initiative reached over 500,000 subscribers as of September 2025, providing stable, contract-free internet access to Filipino homes nationwide.

The Asian Innovation Excellence Awards honours companies that achieve measurable outcomes and address key challenges through innovation and operational improvement, recognising initiatives that drive meaningful progress across diverse industries in the region.
