Co-opbank Pertama bags Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards for digital platform project

Project FIRST has 10 modules and three phases, which will last until October 2024.

Co-opbank Pertama (CBP) achieved a significant milestone by winning the Digital - Financial Services category at the recently held Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards for its groundbreaking project, Project FIRST. This initiative involved a comprehensive transformation of the entire banking system, including modernising, transitioning, and re-engineering the existing system from manual and analogue to a digital platform.

FIRST aims to elevate CBP's core banking system through digital transformation which started in November 2022 and will continue until October 2024 comprised of 10 modules divided into 3 phases. Since its implementation, CBP has successfully upgraded its core system, and integrated platforms, and even offers various existing and new financial products, including Hire Purchase, Small Business Financing, as well as Internet & Mobile Banking.

Aside from that, the project aims to enhance the user experience for satisfaction and flexibility with an integrated platform, which includes the Financing Management System, Financial Origination System and Fraud Management System. This is to ensure the continuity and sustainability of CBP’s operations, and most importantly to boost business growth.

With the recent launch of HELOCBP and HELOBiz, CBP’s customers may now enjoy a seamless banking experience across its digital services such as Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Corporate Internet Banking. This innovative and state-of-the-art endeavour would serve as a stepping stone for CBP to embark on its digital transformation.
