Maybank appoints Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli as group president and CEO

He rejoins Maybank from RHB, where he served as group managing director.

Maybank has announced Dato’ Khairussaleh Ramli as its new group president and CEO (GPCEO), effective 1 May 2022, following Bank Negara Malaysia’s approval. He replaced Dato’ Sri Abdul Farid Alias.

Dato’ Khairussaleh, 54, was most recently the group management director for RHB Banking Group.

Dato’ Khairussaleh previously worked with Maybank between November 2008 and  September 2013, and served as the group chief financial officer (CFO) before taking up the position of president director and CEO of Maybank’s Indonesian operations.

Whilst at Maybank Indonesia (then Bank Internasional Indonesia), he reportedly introduced a business transformation programme that ultimately led to its turnaround, resulting in an 81%  profit growth for FY 2012, according to Maybank.

He also served as group chief strategy officer at Telekom Malaysia Berhad; CEO of TM Ventures; and CFO of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, where he led the listing of the company on its own exchange in 2005.

Dato’ Khairussaleh also spent eight years at Public Bank Group in the Corporate Banking and Stockbroking/ Futures broking divisions.
