Asia's First Social Wellness Club to open in Singapore

Asian Business Review’s Simon Hyett speaks with social wellness thought leader Diana Kraemer on why the island nation represents the perfect social wellness incubus.

The philosophy and establishment of social wellness may be further advanced in its development journey in the United States and Europe than other parts of the globe but the burgeoning industry is set to capture Asia, starting this June with Singapore.

Social wellness is a concept humanity needs. After the events of 2020 to 2022, and a recalibration of mental and spiritual wellness, the social wellness rise to prominence is timely. Asia’s first social wellness club is set to launch in the stunning heart of the City State’s CBD within weeks. The industry is spearheaded by REKOOP co-founder, Kraemer and her passionate colleagues and stakeholders of who have come together to launch the social wellness venture.

Diana Kraemer, the co-founder of breakout concept - social wellness club - REKOOP is a businesswoman who is backed by outstanding credibility. The former World Cup Gymnastics-Aerobics Bronze Medallist has her name marked in history as a Hungarian National Champion. Kraemer combines her remarkable background in world-class athletics with 20 years living in Asia, and is an expert in sports’ sciences. Most importantly, Kraemer brings a rare degree of heart and soul to the industry, speaking with incredible passion as she explains: “Social wellness is a hybrid concept. We combine the elements of physical recuperation with emotional and spiritual big hitters of social engagement and discussion with like-minded people.

Kraemer, explains that while many working age Singaporeans in particular take care of themselves by traditional standards, with watching their diets and exercising regularly, improvement can be made in the emotional wellness space and in recuperation after a long period of travel or at the closure of a long and stressful project.

Speaking from her space in one of Singapore’s central CBD boulevards, Robinson Road, Kraemer explains that while many of us work hard, play hard and exercise hard we let ourselves down on the healing and recuperation side. “The industry is still at the education phase. What I mean by this is not allowing our bodies to heal is a danger. Bodily inflammation is the problem that is linked in some way to most chronic illnesses. With social wellness, the guest is an active participant in their own healing and rejuvenation - it is a completely present and immersive experience.”

REKOOP is a thoroughly unique idea in this region. What it is not is a luxury spa. As Kraemer explains REKOOP is a club that will provide a deeply guest involved transcendental experience combining modern wellness technology and elements with ancient regional practices for unparalleled performance and longevity to create a sanctuary in the middle of the city. REKOOP offers three entry points, a la carte services, bespoke services and Resident Membership which included pre-market announcements, invitations to globally renowned guest speakers and courses, hot opportunities and trial and of course the social aspect benefits that would come with an exclusive club.

Kraemer explains that through all this, service is at the centre of the wellness experience and of course inextricably linked with every individual guest. “Guests are very much coming home when they visit the club. In fact the first feature guests will see at concierge is a “Welcome Home” sign.” She also adds that we are at a pivotal point where we are considering how the future of wellness will unfold, “It is vital that we stay grounded and connected as well as remaining laser-focused, because we are at a focal point. We are reimagining wellness, and society has to also reimagine wellness for itself, and this is an intrinsic and unique matter, but what we can offer at REKOOP is restoring balance within a hospitality setting.”

REKOOP is ready to set the benchmark of how we all view wellness as a critical performance and health measure that must work in tandem with our busy schedules. REKOOP can show us how.
