Dubai Media Incorporated recognised for multi-platform programming at Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026

The broadcaster expanded audience engagement through social media campaigns and short-form historical documentaries.

Dubai Media Incorporated received accolades in the Multi-Platform Campaign - United Arab Emirates and Digital Content Platform - United Arab Emirates categories at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026. The awards highlighted the organisation’s digital campaign for “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and its short-form historical documentary programme “Daqiqa Abr Al Zaman.”

Expanding television content across digital platforms

The “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” campaign extended the programme beyond television through content produced specifically for Dubai TV’s digital platforms. A four-member social media team created approximately 350 videos across 15 episodes, including promotional clips, contestant features, behind-the-scenes footage, audience competitions, and short interactive videos featuring host Kosai Khauli.

Behind-the-scenes coverage appeared for the first time in the programme’s Arabic version, alongside content following contestants throughout their participation in the competition. Weekly interactive segments and social media edits were also developed to suit platform-specific viewing habits and audience engagement patterns.

The campaign generated more than 17 million in reach, whilst the highest-performing video recorded over 1 million views. Audience interaction also increased across likes, comments, shares, and follower activity during the campaign period.

Presenting historical storytelling in short-form format

“Daqiqa Abr Al Zaman” (“A Minute Across Time”) focused on presenting historical stories through one-minute digital documentary episodes created for online audiences. Each episode highlighted moments from history using short-form storytelling and visual formats designed for social media distribution.

The programme incorporated AI-supported visual tools to recreate historical settings alongside editorial research and source verification processes. The content focused on making historical and cultural subjects more accessible to younger audiences consuming media primarily through digital platforms.

Within months of launch, the programme published 74 posts and generated 2,300 interactions across digital channels. The series also contributed to broader engagement with historical and cultural topics amongst Arab audiences through concise digital content formats.
