AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad’s financial services innovation wins at Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026

It modernised IT with data centre consolidation, SD-WAN, cloud migration, and improved IT service observability.

AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad (AEON Credit) received the SD-WAN - Financial Services accolade at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for its IT infrastructure modernisation programme. The initiative covered data centre consolidation, SD-WAN deployment, migration of systems to cloud platforms, and the integration of observability tools within its IT service management framework. The programme formed part of a two-year effort to update the organisation’s technology environment and support operational requirements across its network.

The infrastructure programme included the consolidation of data centre resources to reduce operational complexity and centralise system management. The updated structure reduced redundancy across existing environments and supported more consistent system administration. This adjustment also simplified infrastructure oversight across AEON Credit’s  IT operations and provided a single environment for managing key systems and services.

Network architecture modernisation introduced SD-WAN across the organisation’s branch network. The deployment provided improved connectivity performance and network visibility across locations. The SD-WAN infrastructure also supports cloud-based workloads and enables stable access for branch offices and remote operational teams connected to the organisation’s central systems.

Cloud platform adoption formed another component of the transformation. Several traditional on-premise systems were migrated to cloud-based environments to support system elasticity and faster service provisioning. The cloud transition also supported more flexible resource allocation and infrastructure utilisation within the organisation’s IT operations.

Enhancements to IT service management were introduced through the deployment of observability and monitoring tools. These tools provide real-time visibility into system activity and allow IT teams to identify root causes of issues across applications and infrastructure components. Monitoring capabilities also support earlier detection of incidents and faster responses across operational environments.

The transformation delivered measurable operational results. System downtime decreased from double-digit incidents per year to single-digit occurrences following the infrastructure upgrades.
