Steady growth projected for global automation systems.

The global pharmacy automation devices market is projected to reach $9.83b by 2028, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.4% over the forecast period, according to Polaris Market Research.

The report cited rising adoption of automated dispensing, packaging and labelling systems across healthcare settings, as providers seek to improve prescription accuracy and manage medication workflows more efficiently.

Polaris said advances in pharmacy automation technology continue to support faster prescription fulfilment and operational efficiency, while increased patient awareness and broader healthcare digitisation have sustained demand following pandemic-related disruptions.

The market comprises systems such as medication dispensing solutions, packaging and labelling equipment, storage and retrieval systems, automated medication compounding platforms, and tablet counting devices.

End users include hospital pharmacies and retail pharmacies, the report said.

By geography, the forecast covers Asia Pacific markets including China, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia, alongside North America and Europe. Polaris said continued product development and technology upgrades remain a defining feature of competition among automation solution providers during the forecast period.
