Singlife Philippines recognised at Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025

The company’s digital-first model and mobile app redefine insurance and financial services for Filipinos.

Singlife Philippines received the Philippines Technology Excellence Award for Digital - Life Insurance and Mobile - Financial Services in the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for its tech-led approach to insurance and its comprehensive mobile platform.

Established in 2020 and coming from its 5th anniversary celebration just this August, Singlife Philippines is the country’s first insurer built entirely for mobile, free from legacy systems and the traditional agent-based model. 

At the centre of this digital-first model is the Singlife Plan & Protect App, launched in 2023 as the nation’s first complete mobile insurance solution. The app gives users control over their finances, from saving and setting goals to purchasing life and investment-linked plans. Recent updates include the new Protect from Funeral Costs product, an annual payment option that allows users to save money compared to a monthly payment option, and payment channels such as credit and debit cards and the country’s national QR code, which can be accessed by all leading digital banks and e-wallets. 

Since its launch, the Singlife Plan & Protect App has issued thousands of policies as of today. In total, Singlife Philippines has sold more than one million policies and released nearly PHP100m in claims by July 2025.

Aside from the Singlife Plan & Protect App, Singlife has a plug-and-play solution named the “Singlife Insurance Microsite” (SIM), which is embedded in popular apps in the country. Through SIM, customers can buy and manage their insurance policies directly within the platforms they use every day, making it more convenient to get insured. 

The company’s rapid rollout of multiple feature updates in the past two years demonstrates its commitment to continuous improvement. These include debit and credit card cash-in options, cash-outs to banks and e-wallets, investment top-ups, and personalised dashboards.
