United Overseas Bank (Thailand) honoured at Asian Experience Awards 2025

The company earned recognition for championing sustainability, well-being, and purpose-led growth.

United Overseas Bank won the Thailand Employee Experience of the Year - Banking accolade at the Asian Experience Awards 2025, which reflects its commitment to sustainability as the heart of its strategy.

UOB’s approach is to drive economic growth whilst addressing environmental and social challenges. This means supporting clients with sustainable financing, reducing internal carbon footprint, and building an inclusive culture.

UOB Thailand achieved success with “The UOB Way,” which is a set of values shaping how nearly 10,000 employees connect with customers, colleagues, and communities.

With this, UOB supports employee well-being through initiatives like the Wellness – Shape Your Life programme, along with enhanced benefits, extended parental leave, and retirement planning support.

It also promotes growth through the Better U programme, which equips staff with digital awareness, data storytelling, and AI. There are also opportunities for career mobility, learning platforms, and youth education initiatives to help employees as well as their families grow together.

Additionally, an inclusive environment promotes innovation and open dialogue. One way to do this is through platforms like the UOB Pinnacle Awards.

Aside from these, UOB Thailand holds community-focused initiatives that centre in environment, children, education, and art and culture—with highlights including scholarships and mentorships for youth; sustainability workshops with local schools; the UOB Painting of the Year competition; and volunteer leave for staff to support local causes.

UOB also provides green and ESG-linked financing, helping businesses transition to more sustainable models. 

All these initiatives have contributed to the increased employee engagement: 97% talent retention with 86% retention for Management Associates (up 5% YoY). UOB Thailand delivered solid results in 2024, with operating income of THB41.2b, supported by strong customer deposits of THB727b and a growing total asset base of THB945b, reflecting financial stability and continued market confidence.

Through strong values, inclusive practices, and a focus on sustainability, UOB Thailand is building a better ASEAN starting from within.
