Takeda Thailand takes home Asian Experience Awards 2025 for public-private partnerships
Its health solutions have strengthened the Thailand healthcare ecosystem.
Takeda Thailand bagged the Thailand Brand Experience of the Year - Healthcare accolade at the distinguished Asian Experience Awards 2025 for successfully innovating various public-private partnerships over the years to enhance accessibility and health policy, whilst strengthening healthcare ecosystems through providing local collaborations built on global insights.
Amongst these partnerships is the Dengue-Zero initiative, which was launched in 2022 alongside the Department of Disease Control, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Kao Thailand, and local schools and communities. Through school outreach, door-to-door visits, and immersive media campaigns, the programme empowered families and communities to take action against dengue.
The campaign significantly increased awareness and perceived risk of dengue amongst both parents and adults, with parental concern rising to 22% and adult concern to 8%. It also drove a notable rise in vaccination acceptance, jumping to 73% for parents and to 60% for adults.
Takeda Thailand also initiated a long-term partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, the Thai Rare Disease Foundation, and leading medical institutions to build a more inclusive and sustainable care model whilst enabling platforms for patient voices to be heard in response to the challenges faced by rare disease patients, such as delayed diagnosis, limited access to treatment, and fragmented support systems.
As part of the partnership, three HAE Screening Centres were established to support early diagnosis and timely care. The Fabry Screen Programme also identified five new patients from 197 screened, whilst the rollout of local DBS testing for Gaucher disease significantly accelerated diagnostic timelines.
Lastly, the company co-founded the Thai Mental Health Alliance to drive changes in both perception and policy and transformed the company’s role from pharmaceutical provider to mental health ally. It has launched a dedicated ADHD awareness website under this alliance.
“Through perseverance, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to patients and people, Takeda Thailand is building a healthier, more equitable future for all,” the company said.
