Zain Jordan scores win at Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for cutting-edge data centre
The Bunker’s services include colocation, cloud hosting, disaster recovery, backup and storage, and managed IT and cybersecurity.
Telecommunications operator Zain Jordan took home the coveted Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2025 in the Data Centre - Telecommunications category for its state-of-the-art, carrier-neutral data centre “The Bunker”, which offers colocation, cloud, disaster recovery, and managed IT services.
The Bunker successfully combines military-grade infrastructure, Tier III certification, green engineering, cutting-edge services, and national digital leadership — all in one facility. It serves as part of Zain’s broader digital transformation strategy and supports regional and international clients as well.
Built 12 metres below ground, it offers enhanced physical protection from natural disasters and threats, backed by 24/7 on-site security with biometric access, CCTV, and mantraps. Its infrastructure supports 99.982% uptime SLA through redundant power and cooling systems, online double-conversion uninterruptible power supply, diesel backup generators with three days of full-load fuel supply, and precision environmental controls with hot/cold aisle containment.
At the same time, the carrier-neutral facility provides multiple Tier 1 and Tier 2 connectivity options, redundant fibre paths, and supports IPv4/IPv6.
Sustainability is also central to The Bunker, with a power usage effectiveness under 1.6, renewable energy use, and advanced monitoring systems. The data centre meets ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 20000, PCI-DSS, and GDPR compliance standards, ensuring robust security, business continuity, and service quality.
“The Bunker provides expert quality and next-level service crucial to our data centre needs; from the reliable uptime, state-of-the-art monitoring, highest standards of security and redundancy, 24x7 access, and very professional and responsive staff. Beyond that, everything you’d want or need in a data centre is there,” said one of Zain Jordan’s clients about the solution.
