3 in 10 Taiwanese Gen Z investors now include insurance in their portfolios

Younger investors aim to manage risk whilst building long-term wealth.

Insurance is emerging as a key component in Taiwanese investment portfolios, particularly amongst younger investors, according to Yahoo Taiwan Finance’s 2025 Investment Behavior Survey.

The study, which surveyed nearly 9,000 internet users aged 18 and above, shows that 30% of Gen Z investors now include insurance in their asset mix.

This reflects a broader trend toward diversification, as younger investors aim to manage risk whilst building long-term wealth.

Although exchange-traded funds (ETFs) remain the top choice across all age groups, and cryptocurrencies continue to gain ground.

Overall, investors have become more conservative in 2025, with nearly 60% shifting to lower-risk strategies.

Saving and wealth accumulation remain top priorities, followed by income generation and retirement planning.

The survey also highlights the influence of Gen X parents in guiding Gen Z’s investment decisions.

Over 60% of Gen Z respondents rely on family advice when choosing products like stocks, ETFs, and insurance, showing intergenerational influence on long-term financial planning.
