APAC to account for 15% of global healthcare GenAI spending by 2027

Over half of healthcare organizations plan budgets for GenAI technology.

Asia Pacific (APAC) will represent around 15% of global healthcare generative AI (GenAI) spending by 2027, IDC projected.

IDC reported that more than half of the region’s healthcare organisations plan to allocate budgets for this technology, whilst 77% are focusing on developing proof of concepts and identifying use cases for GenAI projects.

IDC’s Senior Research Manager for Health Insights- APAC, Manoj Vallikkat, said the increased priority towards POCs is set to transition to full-fledged deployments supported by matured clinical data sets, regulatory support, and enhanced skill sets.

Moreover, the technology’s adoption, though at an emerging stage, is expected to impact clinician efficiency, workflow productivity, and patient experience.
