Around 4 in 5 SG e-commerce organisations adopt AI

About 38% are still experimenting with AI implementation.

A total of 80% of e-commerce organisations in Singapore are already using artificial intelligence (AI) in their operations, according to a report by Salesforce.

Sujith Abraham, senior vice president and general manager for Salesforce ASEAN, said the technology enables players in Singapore’s commerce industry to “add value” at every customer journey touchpoint.

“This paves the way for a fresh wave of digital innovation that boosts productivity, customer engagement, and business growth,” Abraham said.

“Still, successful AI implementation and usage relies critically on the quality of data and its management. Companies that can effectively leverage their data in a trusted manner for AI-powered innovations can create immersive, connected customer experiences that will strengthen relationships and build long-term brand loyalty,” he added.

The report found that around 42% of e-commerce organisations have fully implemented the technology, and 38% are still at the experimenting stage.

Salesforce added, that 20% are still assessing if and how can AI align with their operations.

The report surveyed 2,700 e-commerce practitioners in 15 countries, 200 of which were from Singapore.
