CloudMile bags win for Google Workspace migration project

The project enhanced MAHB effective collaboration and communication across its teams.

AI and cloud service provider CloudMile brought home the win in the Cloud - Transportation category at the recently held Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards for its Google Workspace (GWS) Migration Project in collaboration with Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB).

The project came as MAHB sought a solution to help them stay true to their commitment to prioritise employee flexibility enhancing collaboration and communication across teams.

MAHB enlisted the help of CloudMile in April 2022 to engage in a migration project to help MAHB transform digitally into a new modern workforce organisation without disruption.

Led by CloudMile, the three-year Google migration project consisted of several phases, including the migration from Microsoft Office 365 (O365) to GWS, re-platforming existing applications, and implementation of a Big Data Analytics platform. The six-month transition period allowed MAHB's workload to run in parallel on both O365 and GWS.

MAHB was able to seamlessly transition to a cloud-based solution and achieve its goals of employee flexibility and enhanced collaboration with CloudMile and Google Cloud’s support. The cloud providers continue to partner with MAHB, providing managed services and ensuring that the organisation remains at the forefront of technological innovation.

One of the largest airport operator groups in the world in terms of passengers handled, MAHB manages 39 airports across Malaysia and one international airport in Turkey. It embraces four core values, which are integrity, customer centricity, accountability, and new ideas, to ensure they become a productive and effective workforce.

Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards recognises exceptional companies that are leading the technological revolution and digital journeys of their respective industries to boost Malaysia’s ever-growing economy.
