AXONS stands out at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2022

The company brought home three major awards.

Tech company AXONS won big at the recently held Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2022 for its development of various software that deals with knowledge of agriculture, screening entry and exit at factories, as well as food safety and traceability. This shows the attention in product quality that covers the entire supply chain cycle from upstream processing to downstream processing.

Amongst AXONS’ software is AXONS-AgriTech received Thailand Technology Excellence Award for Mobile - Agriculture award, the know-how knowledge in one platform, providing various topics such as how to start growing plants, how to prepare, how to avoid or handle the disease and insect prevention, including the harvesting process, amongst others.

The software was developed to get better prices, meet market demand, and have high product quality. Using this tool, farmers needed to adapt themselves to technology. AXONS’ century-long experience and technology can assist them to maximise productivity in a timely manner, especially during the pandemic, which has limited service.

Farmers can now check soil conditions in a particular area, it can also create a planner for fertilising and taking care of each stage. They can also view schedules for their cultivation activities through notifications.

The platform benefits all stakeholders as it checks for the need for factors in production, reports problems and epidemics in each area, manages issues in a timely manner, foresees the trend of the output for managing the raw materials, and assesses profit and loss before cultivation.

Nowadays, the number of users has increased from 25 users at the beginning to 350 users in four companies, and AXONS is now in the process of expanding to farmers.

“In the future, the platform can be expanded to suit the needs of labour or services in some cultivation activities. They can also use machine learning to assess diseases and insects, as well as provide advice to farmers,” the company said.

Meanwhile, the company has also implemented protection against COVID-19 through its AXONS-VRegist software. This comes as the factories of the Charoen Pokphand Group have issued various measures and precautions for social responsibility by providing protection to workers and tracking people who are entering and leaving the factory.

The AXONS-VRegist software assists in screening and preventive measures of all personnel by making employees provide personal travel information to keep track of their history and records, and whether they have gone to high-risk areas. Personal hygiene checks, temperature screens, and preliminary health checks of all personnel are being taken upon entry or exit to factory premises.

A speech-to-text function is added to facilitate the data recording, as well as a dynamic QR code for scanning. These features will help reduce exposure.

The software is compatible with a face recognition device, which can be connected to obtain the temperature of an individual automatically for screening and checking factory entry. It has also developed a logic that is able to evaluate a model of individual risk assessment automatically. People with a high risk of infection will be notified to the relevant department managers and supervisors to acknowledge by the prompt alert function before entering the plants.

After using the system, the time processed for entering the factory is reduced as people can make an appointment in advance. There is currently a lot of query data from all businesses using this system for reporting under the report format. The software is continuously deployed by providing a plan to develop data connectivity to CPF systems to help prevent epidemics and provide a common database for managing future risks.

The success of the AXONS-VRegist software has shown how precautionary measures against COVID-19 are being taken seriously. This effort has been recognised by the awards programme, as AXONS received the Thailand Technology Excellence Award for Enterprise Software - Conglomerates award.

AXONS has also clinched the Thailand Technology Excellence Award for Blockchain - Retail award for the company’s AXONS-Trace, which is a traceability system that allows consumers to trace back product origins through the QR code on the packaging. This comes amidst consumer concerns about food safety and sustainability. The system links all data in the production chain on blockchain technology to create transparency and data security, as well as build trust amongst users.

The AXONS-Trace system is not only a way to communicate with consumers on product information, nutrition, menus, and distribution channels, amongst others, but also a choice that can lead to omnichannel marketing. The solution can lead to more sales funnels that can help build advanced sales. The information promoted by the brand will help stimulate buying behaviour and may lead to ordering products from other groups of that brand.

AXONS-Trace also established a good image for organisations moving towards digital transformation by adopting blockchain technology, which can greatly improve supply chains by enabling faster and more efficient delivery of data, enhancing products’ traceability, and improving coordination between the partners.

Regarding Product Sustainability, AXONS-Trace displays the guarantee of Carbon Footprint Standards and the Carbon Reduction Rating label for communicating the production process’ information to consumers that CPF’s product is fabricated with the awareness of the environment, which can be noticed on the Carbon Rating label with the gold medal sign. There are three levels of the Carbon Rating label, namely the gold medal, silver medal, and bronze medal. Moreover, in terms of the consumer’s safety, AXONS-Trace also provides the info on the Food Safety page, presenting all of the received factory’s standards, such as Genesis GAP, GMP, HACCP, and ISO 9001.

AXONS recognises its importance and continually develops AXONS-Trace to enable both affiliates and third parties to use the service in order to offer traceability information on products and important information for communication with a consumer.

The convenience of using the system and providing good service is also the metric of success of the AXONS-Trace project, referring to the satisfaction evaluation results. Recognising the reliability of AXONS-Trace in dealing with food safety concerns.

All of 3 awards convey the AXONS’ digital potential emphatically, being a part of Thailand’s supply chain achievement and moving towards to being “Kitchen of the World ” sustainably.
