Emperor International suffers $767.4m loss

Its subsidiary, Emperor Entertainment Hotel, likewise recorded a loss in the year ending March 2021.

Emperor International Holdings Limited recorded a $767.44m loss in the year ended March 2021, an improvement compared to the $3.64b loss registered in the previous year.

Its revenue from rental income amounted to $1.31b over the same period, down from $2.36b in the previous year.

Emperor International linked the decrease in rental income to $898.7m from $1b to the softened office leasing demand amidst the sluggish economy.

Revenue from the sales of property development was $82.2 million, partially due to the sales income from Peak Castle. Meanwhile, revenue from the hospitality segment declined to $336.2 million from $1.21b.

Emperor International has already distributed an interim dividend of $0.012 per share. It will be distributing a special dividend of $0.010 per share on 25 June 2021.

On top of this, Emperor International recommended the payment of a final dividend of $0.012 per share.

Moreover, its subsidiary Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited also recorded a loss of $177.57m, a decline from the $263.9m profit in the previous year.

Its revenue for the year amounted to $301.85m compared to $1.14b previously. Emperor E Hotel noted the company its second half revenue rose 125% from the revenue recorded in the first half which signals strong recovery.

Emperor E Hotel distributed an interim dividend of $0.015 per share and will be distributing a special dividend of $0.050 per share on 25 June 2021. It has recommended the payment of a final dividend of $0.015 per share.
