Singapore job postings fall 4.5% to five-year low in February

Demand remains high in ‘pharmacy’ and ‘sports’.

Job postings in Singapore declined 4.5% in February, following three consecutive monthly increases, and stood 12% below last year’s levels.

The drop pushed postings to their lowest point since March 2021, though they remained 32% above pre-pandemic levels, according to an Indeed report.

Postings in 92% of occupations are above their pre-pandemic baseline from 1 February 2020, with 8% more than double pre-pandemic levels.

Demand was highest in pharmacy (+149%), sports (+124%), hospitality & tourism (+121%), and real estate (+104%).

Meanwhile, postings remained below pre-pandemic levels in childcare (-60%), beauty & wellness (-29%), driving (-22%), and media & communications (-3.4%).

Opportunities with remote or work-from-home options accounted for 8.6% of postings in February, up from 8.4% a year ago and recovering from a post-pandemic low of 6.9% in late 2022.

Remote roles were most common in IT systems & solutions (15.6%), followed by sales (15.5%), and media & communications (14.0%).

Overall labour market remains tight, with Singapore’s unemployment rate at 2% at the end of 2025.
