Schneider Electric India has made work easier for electricians through the MySchneider Electrician App, a platform that serves as a community hub to get product information, watch tutorial videos, install project management, generate quotes for customers and request their pickup dates. The success of the MySchneider Electrician App has brought the company the India Technology Excellence Award for Mobile – Electronics category at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards.
Customers in India are conscious of their budgets and prioritise efficient and cost-effective solutions. To cater to this demand, electricians would need timely support for product availability, trustworthy deals and discounts, as well as access to product information, product selection and installation, and updates on current technology.
The App's interface
Launched in 2018, the MySchneider Electrician App serves as a one-stop access to all Schneider Electric’s key digital services, allowing electricians to access the latest product information, tutorial videos, manage new installations and request quotations from preferred retailers. The platform also allows them to chat live with retailer customer support and partake in loyalty programmes.
Electricians before only had contact with Schneider through the distributors, retailers, or their own customers, depending on the channel for the latest information, quotes and rewards. The company places great value on the contribution of electricians in their community to deliver quality and innovative products, thus launching the MySchneider Electrician App with the goal of improving the engagement and support of electricians.
A key feature of the MySchneider Electrician App is that it is designed as a platform for the electrician community that allows them to master their craft. This not only makes electricians feel supported in their business growth but also boosts their efficiency and equips them with the knowledge to improve their skills.
Whilst the use of the application saw solid growth in 2018, the surge of the pandemic posed challenges for electricians to efficiently deliver their service during the lockdowns. As such, Schneider Electric made upgrades in the App to address these challenges.
These upgrades include a new invoicing feature that helps electricians who do not use invoicing software and use handwritten bills to effectively manage their business despite geographical constraints. The upgrade also includes a digitised reward system that integrates a digital wallet (Paytm), allowing electricians to redeem rewards and seamlessly avail of the loyalty programme. Additionally, Schneider Electric has improved the security of the App by requiring ID proof for rewards and identification.
Through these developments, the engaged electrician community posted a 60% increase from 2021 to 2023, with the monthly active users rising by 25% year-on-year.
