DigiPlus Interactive wins Philippines Technology Excellence Award

 The BingoPlus Platform was recognised for enabling a live online game, providing players with convenience and saving their time.

Philippines’ DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (DigiPlus) has clinched the Philippines Technology Excellence Award for Startup - Media & Entertainment at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2023 for the digital platform BingoPlus which transformed the way of playing bingo as it enabled the game to go live online.

Launched in January 2022, the rollout of BingoPlus came at a time when digitalisation was accelerated. As such, the digital platform drew massive success as it offered the tech-savvy population of the country the convenience of time and place by playing the game live.

Due to this, BingoPlus has become both a community and entertainment platform and a source of revenue for the Philippine government, whilst also contributing to several social and educational non-profit programmes. The is anchored on cutting-edge technologies and support from a deep group of experts from the technology, research and development and gaming operations spaces.

The launch of BingoPlus drove the remarkable turnaround of DigiPlus, reversing the net loss it incurred during the pandemic. In the first half of 2023, DigiPlus registered a net income of ₱1.1 billion coming from a net loss of PH₱257m in the previous year as revenues jumped more than threefold to PH₱8.9b. This also drove the attention of the equities market investors to DigiPlus as the publicly listed company in the Philippines’s stock price surged by over 150% since the start of 2023.

“DigiPlus’ strong performance solidifies the strategic transformation we embarked on a year ago. As we continue to scale up our brands and introduce new offerings, we are confident that we can sustain this upward trajectory for the rest of the year,” DigiPlus President Andy Tsui said. 
 
BingoPlus is the first government-licensed digital bingo platform in the Philippines that is reshaping the local gaming industry scene. By dominating the digital realm, BingoPlus has enabled new opportunities that will allow online gaming platforms to flourish in the country.

It will continue to allocate time and resources for research and development and technologies to provide more innovative products and transform the customer’s digital experience. BingoPlus also presented an opportunity for the parent company DigiPlus to position itself as a digital entertainment platform beyond gaming by anchoring on innovation and technologies to craft and offer new entertainment product formats to Filipinos.
