Singapore nears full digital saturation with 96% Internet penetration
Mobile connections exceed population, report says
Singapore remains one of the world’s most connected economies, with internet access reaching 95.8% of the population and social media use at 88.2%, according to the Digital 2025: Singapore report by DataReportal, produced with Meltwater and We Are Social.
The report said Singapore had 5.61 million internet users and 5.16 million active social media accounts as of January 2025. Mobile subscriptions rose 6.3% to 10.5 million, equivalent to 179% of the population, reflecting widespread eSIM use and multiple mobile lines per person.

Median mobile download speed reached 127.75 Mbps, while fixed broadband averaged 324.46 Mbps, the report said. Both figures represent strong YoY gains and place Singapore among the world’s fastest networks. Almost all mobile connections, or 99.3%, were broadband capable.

TikTok was the fastest-growing platform with 3.63 million adult users, or 62% of the 18-plus population. LinkedIn membership increased 14% from a year earlier to 4.8 million, representing 96% of working-age adults, according to the report. Instagram maintained 53.8% reach, while Messenger and Snapchat showed mixed growth.

The report said Singapore’s near-universal digital access means future growth will depend on engagement depth and service innovation rather than new users. It added that the country’s strong infrastructure and high data speeds continue to reinforce its position as a regional hub for fintech, digital trade, and professional connectivity.
