VieON bags Vietnam Technology Excellence Award for Online Services - Media & Entertainment at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2022

The platform is positioned as a destination for premium entertainment content in Vietnam.

Video-on-demand and television service VieON took home the Vietnam Technology Excellence Award for Online Services - Media & Entertainment at the recently held Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2022 for its premium entertainment content.

VieON is a content streaming app launched in 2020 by DatVietVAC Group Holdings. Since then, VieON has quickly received attention and become one of the top destinations for premium and fully copyrighted entertainment content in Vietnam. It has risen to the top of the rankings with the most downloads on both the AppStore and Google Play in the launch period and has since established strong partnerships with reputable brands such as Samsung, LG, and various payment gateways.

VieON's Product & Tech team have worked continuously to improve the recommendation engine for the app, allowing users to quickly access the content they want and enhance their personalised experience. This year, VieON also introduced transactional video on demand content (TVOD) and has plans to, for the first time, enter a new global market.

VieON’s success is due to its careful and heavy investment in good content. Viewers can access a diverse library of local and international titles, from movies to TV series, TV shows, sports, live content, and TV channels, right on the app. As a member of DatVietVAC – a media, entertainment, and tech powerhouse – VieON has considerable advantage in local content production. Some of the top-rated shows on VieON are wave-making original productions such as TV series Cây Táo Nở Hoa, Giấc Mơ Của Mẹ, TV shows Rap Viet S1 & S2, Người Ấy Là Ai?, The Masked Singer, and 2 Days 1 Night. Today, the app has nearly 30 million users, and growing.
