Verkada secures the Australia Technology Excellence Award for Smart Technology - Safety & Security for visitor management system

The platform creates a seamless experience for visitors whilst increasing security.

Cloud-based physical security platform provider Verkada brought home the Australia Technology Excellence Award for Smart Technology - Safety & Security at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2023 for its visitor management system Verkada Guest. This system allows establishments to create a seamless experience for visitors whilst increasing security with native integration into physical security architecture.

Through this platform, organisations have limitless ways to customise the experience from the minute that a visitor arrives – from touchless checks-in, badge printing and arrival notifications, to the ability to remotely unlock doors for specific guests. They can also utilise features like simple document signing, automatic host notifications, and contactless check-in to improve experience even when a receptionist is not available.

Such capability also minimises work for administrative staff. Beyond the ease of scaling across multiple sites and the ability to remotely manage the check-in and check-out processes, Verkada Guest enables security teams to review visitor activity and analytics with ease. These review processes can also be customised to make sure that only the appropriate people have access to information, with tiered, role-based access levels.

Optional background checks through Verkada Guest can also give organisations added peace of mind knowing that they have an idea who is in their buildings. The Security Screens feature of the platform reads a visitor’s state-issued identification and checks against US sex offender registries and criminal records. Administrators can then take appropriate action to those identified as a potential risk.

“What sets Verkada Guest apart from other visitor management solutions is how it enables organisations to strengthen their security. Built on the Verkada Command platform, Guest’s native video security and access control integrations allow admins to review video of visitor activity and remotely unlock doors for specific guests,” the company said.

More than one million visitors have checked in with Verkada Guest to date.
