Tata Communications Limited wins at Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025

The company supported Bajaj Auto Credit Limited in building a secure, cloud-native lending platform within 90 days of licensing.

Tata Communications Limited won the India Technology Excellence Award for Cloud - Financial Services in the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for enabling Bajaj Auto Credit Limited (BACL) to launch a secure, cloud-native lending platform powered by its Vayu Financial Cloud.

BACL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto Ltd, received its NBFC licence on 31 August 2023 and needed to rapidly roll out a digital platform capable of managing the full loan lifecycle. Tata Communications Limited delivered a purpose-built financial cloud solution that went live in 60 days, enabling BACL to process its first loan within 90 days.

The Vayu Financial Cloud integrated cloud, network, and security services to give customers a seamless experience, from viewing loan offers and sanction letters to managing repayments. Internally, it streamlined workflows, automated operations, and hosted critical applications to enhance efficiency.

Security was a key feature of the solution. Tata Communications Limited implemented a three-tiered security framework, including firewalls, host-level protection, VPN, multi-factor authentication, privileged identity management, and DDoS protection. With a security information and event management system in place, BACL benefitted from real-time threat detection and response.

Designed specifically for financial institutions, the Vayu Financial Cloud was chosen over hyperscalers due to its sector-focused compliance with RBI and SEBI regulations, ability to ensure 99.999% uptime, and fast deployment. It also enabled integration with payment gateways, APIs, and Salesforce applications.

As a result, BACL achieved measurable outcomes, including a 300% faster time-to-market, 30% month-on-month growth in platform use, 12-15% cost savings, and threefold infrastructure expansion in just eight months. Nearly 100% uptime was maintained during peak usage, supporting business continuity and disaster recovery across sites.

Looking ahead, BACL plans to expand the platform further with technologies such as IZO™ SDWAN, continuing its journey in digital financial services.
