Tata Communications Limited lauded at Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for SIEM-led transformation

Cyber resilience transformation with Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company earns recognition.

Tata Communications Limited was awarded the India Technology Excellence Award for Cybersecurity - Financial Services in the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for its managed SIEM-led transformation with Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company (KMAMC). Tata Communications delivers cutting-edge Cyber Security Resilience services to over 100 leading financial institutions across India, spanning both private and public sector undertakings (PSUs). These services are instrumental in supporting the critical cyber resilience operations of the nation’s financial backbone.

KMAMC needed to strengthen its defences against today’s complex and rapidly evolving cyber threats. Its earlier model relied on manual monitoring and reactive responses, which created operational gaps and heightened risk. To address this, the financial services firm partnered with Tata Communications Limited to implement a phased, managed Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform, later expanded with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) and User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA).

The staged rollout gave KMAMC real-time visibility into threats whilst ensuring business continuity. With SOAR, the company automated alert triage and remediation, reducing manual workload and response times. UEBA further enhanced detection accuracy by flagging anomalies based on user and entity behaviour. Backed by Tata Communications Limited’s ISP-level network visibility and flexible licensing model, the platform provided resilience and scalability without binding KMAMC to a single backend system.

The impact is substantial. KMAMC improved operational efficiency by cutting down false positives and achieving faster remediation. Continuous, 24/7 monitoring ensured alerts were actionable and prioritised, enabling swifter governance and decision-making. The financial institution also achieved zero disruption during the expansion to SOAR and UEBA, critical in a regulated environment where uninterrupted operations are essential.

This partnership established a future-ready framework, enabling KMAMC to integrate new cybersecurity tools without costly or disruptive transitions. Tata Communications Limited oversees updates, licensing, and platform management, helping KMAMC stay ahead of threats with minimal effort.
