Schneider Electric garners Middle East Technology Excellence Award 2024 for residential solutions

Mada Al Sharqiah Real Estate Development has advanced its sustainability goals through products and services provided by Schneider Electric.

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has been recognised in the Property Technology - Residential Building Construction category at the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2024 for its partnership with home developer Mada Al Sharqiah Real Estate Development. The collaboration saw the implementation of several key solutions for creating safer and more sustainable residences through best-in-class electrical equipment.

Schneider Electric assisted Mada Al Sharqiah Real Estate Development in the renovation of 96 homes on its new Jood project in Aziziyah Khobar in May 2023. The project’s strategic ambition was to demonstrate renovation that not only improves living and comfort but also tackles energy efficiency and sustainability of the homes. This project is aligned with the company's core goals to push the boundaries of residential architectural engineering whilst delivering high-standard living space to homeowners.

To meet these needs, Mada Al Sharqiah Real Estate Development opted for control panels, electricity breakers, switches and sockets, and EV charging units from Schneider’s product ecosystem. These solutions were chosen for their quality, reliability, safety, intelligent control, and ease of installation and maintenance.

Leveraging smart connected EV chargers from Schneider Electric, Mada Al Sharqiah Real Estate Development empowered homeowners to effectively manage their electricity consumption and costs as EV charging is a major electrical load in homes, additionally helping achieve its sustainability goals by doing so.

All homes are equipped with lighting control and smart devices to improve energy efficiency. It also involved the integration of solar and energy storage systems from Schneider Electric to facilitate the transition to clean, renewable energy sources, thereby reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

The home developer also utilised Schneider Electric's solutions for recycling and reducing waste in products, which helped minimise the environmental impact at the end of their shelf life. This initiative supported their claim to be compliant with green building standards.
