The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization bags win at Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2022

The Saber platform developed & powered by THIQAH company, helps register the required conformity certificates for consumer products.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) has brought home a win in the Information Management - Technology category at the recently held Middle East Technology Excellence Awards for its electronic platform Saber.

Saber aims to help local suppliers and factories to register the required conformity certificates electronically for consumer products, whether imported or locally manufactured, to enter the Saudi market. It hopes to raise the level of safe products in the Saudi market and reduce the ones that do not conform to Saudi’s specifications.

It also reduces the needed time to release consumer products by Saudi Customs and accelerates procedures of the required conformity certificates for consumer products, whether imported or locally manufactured.

The platform allowed the support of the growth of the conformity index from 80% in 2020 to 81% in 2021, and of the competitiveness Index for cross-border trade by 72 ranks.

Saber platform helps the merchants to import their shipments to Saudi Arabia by facilitating the clearance process, as well as reaching the CBs to issue the conformity certificates. With the platform, the conformity assessments have been moved from the arrival ports to the country of origin which reduce the time of clearance and avoid the re-export of shipments.

The prestigious awards programme honours outstanding companies in the region that made exceptional contributions in pursuit of technological innovation in their respective industries.
