Sandisk honoured at Malaysia International Business Awards 2026 with two wins

The company was lauded for advancing sustainable manufacturing through AI-powered innovation and strategic initiatives.

Sandisk triumphed at the Malaysia International Business Awards 2026, winning the Excellence Award - Manufacturing Technology and Initiative Award - Manufacturing Technology with its AI (artificial intelligence) innovations and R.E.S.E.T. transformation framework.

AI-powered innovation
Sandisk is advancing the future of semiconductor manufacturing through a series of AI and generative AI innovations, including Intelligent Alarm Assist (I-Assist), a GenAI Data-to-Insight platform, and an optimised de-panel process control system.

Sandisk’s I-Assist automates the manual analysis and time-consuming investigation during traditional troubleshooting in semiconductor manufacturing. The system analyses machine alarms and operational data to quickly identify the root cause of equipment issues.

The GenAI Data-to-Insight platform, meanwhile, addresses the vast amounts of complex data from machines, sensors, and production processes generated during semiconductor manufacturing. The platform interprets this data automatically and converts it into insights. It also detects early anomalies, provides predictive insights, and recommends optimised process parameters.

Playing a significant role in driving this transformation is the leadership at Sandisk. The company’s vision focuses on building a future-ready manufacturing environment, which aligns with the principles of Industry 5.0.

As environmental responsibility is also deeply embedded in Sandisk’s operations, it maintains a strong governance framework to manage environmental risks and track environmental performance.

Moreover, Sandisk promotes environmental awareness amongst employees through training programmes, regular communication, and active participation initiatives.

R.E.S.E.T. transformation framework
Sandisk’s R.E.S.E.T. transformation framework is an initiative that is led by Dato’ KL Bock and aims to build the Factory of the Future.

R.E.S.E.T. stands for Reimagine, Empower, Simplify, Excel, and Transform, and acts as a guiding framework to support SanDisk’s manufacturing transformation through digital technology, human-machine collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Through programmes such as the R.E.S.E.T. Roadshow, R.E.S.E.T. Conference, and the Standard Implementation Framework (SIF), Sandisk empowers employees to contribute ideas and lead improvements.

Beyond internal transformation, Sandisk partners with academic institutions to strengthen innovation. For instance, it collaborated with Universiti Sains Malaysia and developed the Central Intelligent Automation (CIA) Lab, which serves as a platform for applied research in artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart manufacturing technologies.

The impact of the R.E.S.E.T. and Factory of the Future initiatives is seen in the improved efficiency of digital dashboards, automated workflows, predictive manufacturing tools, and AI-assisted decision systems. It has also extended to fostering cultural transformation within the organisation and influencing broader industry practices.

Sandisk’s visionary leadership, strong partnerships, and disciplined execution are building a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem that supports global competitiveness and industrial growth.
