PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk recognised at Indonesia Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for digital innovation
The bank received accolades for leveraging data-driven insights and innovative platforms to improve financial inclusion and operational efficiency across Indonesia.
PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (Bank Mandiri) won recognition at the Indonesia Technology Excellence Awards 2025 in Analytics - Banking and Digital - Banking. The Cash-Out Analysis initiative applied real-time behavioural analytics to reduce customer fund leakage and manual monitoring, whilst Livin’ by Mandiri, Livin’ Merchant, and Kopra by Mandiri continue to expand access to innovative financial solutions for both retail and wholesale clients, driving greater inclusion and operational efficiency across Indonesia.
Harnessing analytics to reduce customer fund leakage
Bank Mandiri’s Cash-Out Analysis initiative addressed customer churn and fund leakage through near real-time behavioural analytics. Launched in early 2024, the system provides relationship managers, branch managers, and senior leaders with WhatsApp alerts, reducing manual tracking time by 95%.
The initiative identifies abnormal or high-value outbound transfers through BI-Fast, ATMs, or internet banking using dynamic thresholds and historical behaviour patterns. Secure dashboard links give frontline staff immediate access to insights.
The analysis revealed that a subset of customers contributed significantly to the total fund leakage. This insight supported targeted strategies that re-engaged high-impact customers. Alert coverage expanded from 366,000 to 456,000 customers, which gave the bank broader visibility across key segments.
The Service Level Agreement was reduced from five days to under six hours, whilst remaining compliant with Indonesia’s data privacy and security regulations. The bank is also preparing to integrate machine learning models for churn prediction and embed leads into CRM workflows.
Building a connected digital ecosystem for wholesale and retail banking
Bank Mandiri was also recognised for its digital platforms Livin’ by Mandiri, Livin’ Merchant, and Kopra by Mandiri. Together, these solutions connect corporate, SME, and individual customers.
