Pebble honoured for multi-channel playout system at Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026
The company delivered a resilient hybrid IP and SDI playout ecosystem that supports 10 broadcast channels, with synchronised operations and disaster-recovery capabilities.
Pebble received an accolade in the Multi-Channel Playout System - Taiwan category at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026 for its deployment of a 10-channel playout system for Videoland. The project used a triple-redundant 10+10+10 configuration across separate systems, supporting continuous broadcast operations across all channels.
The implementation combined ST 2110 IP infrastructure with an SDI-based disaster recovery platform. The primary system operated on IP, whilst a secondary site used SDI to maintain continuity during system disruptions. Playlist synchronisation and database alignment allowed both environments to operate in parallel, supporting consistent output across locations.
The system supported media validation, playout control, audio processing, and monitoring within a single workflow. Integration across these functions reduced the need for multiple standalone systems and enabled more direct management of daily broadcast operations.
Graphics capabilities were integrated through RT Graphics plugins and HTML5-based tools. Both 2D and 3D graphics operated on a single server, reducing additional hardware requirements. Automated promotion features populated on-air graphics using live playlist data, reducing manual input and improving accuracy in broadcast elements.
Remote operations were enabled through a web-based control interface with monitoring access, allowing operators to manage playout functions across locations. Additional development introduced automated alerts for missed or changed events, allowing operators to respond before issues affected broadcast output.
The deployment provided Videoland with a hybrid playout system structured around redundancy, synchronisation, and automation. The configuration supports ongoing broadcast operations whilst allowing a transition from SDI to IP-based infrastructure.
