ONE Krungthai from Krungthai Bank wins Asian Experience Awards 2024 for employee mobile app

The enhancements made within the app have enhanced employees’ work life.

Krungthai Bank received the Thailand Digital Employee Experience of the Year - Banking category win at the prestigious Asian Experience Awards 2024 for its employee mobile app ONE Krungthai Mobile Application, that facilitates work, supports learning and development, and fosters organisational culture and engagement within the bank.

ONE Krungthai Mobile Application is built around five core functions—human resources management system (HRMS), personal improvement, communication, engagement, and daily work tools. It also connects employees to the bank’s internal systems without requiring a VPN.

Since being launched in 2021, ONE Krungthai Mobile Application has enhanced employee experience through digital technology, encapsulating “the workplace in your hands.” It has also undergone two major upgrades over the past 24 months to enhance digital experiences and boost efficiency and engagement.

The app’s first major upgrade is the enterprise social network feature, comprising chat, social community, and live stream functions. These have been introduced in response to the work-from-anywhere policy adopted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chat function, a secure and private messenger for work-related communications, mitigates risks associated with mixing personal and work-related communications on platforms like LINE. It also ensures the secure transmission of sensitive information and is accessible via a web-based platform for seamless cross-platform work experiences.

At the same time, the Social Community function allows employees to exchange knowledge on various topics according to the communities they join, whilst the Live Stream function enables real-time video sharing and engagement, allowing members to share insights with employees.

Another significant enhancement is the Remote Override function, which is designed to support workforce rationalisation where one manager may oversee multiple branches. This feature enables remote transaction overrides, ensuring a smooth service even when the branch manager is not physically present at the branch. It addresses the risk of managers sharing passwords with staff, a practice that, whilst convenient, violates bank regulations.

These upgrades, along with existing features, have made ONE Krungthai an essential app for daily use, with 71% of the employees using it regularly. The app has also received high satisfaction scores from 15,529 employees responding to the survey, with overall satisfaction increasing from 4.62 in 2022 to 4.70 out of 5 in 2024.

“The app is a testament to how digital and innovation is used to enhance employee experience and create employee engagement,” the company said.
