NTUC LearningHub clinches Asian Experience Awards 2024 for tech talent ecosystem
NTUC LearningHub Tech Talent Academy aims to nurture tech talent in the country.
Leading continuing education and training provider NTUC LearningHub brought home a win in the prestigious Asian Experience Awards 2024 as the Singapore Brand Experience of the Year - Training and Development for its NTUC LearningHub Tech Talent Academy (NTUC LHUB TTA) that bridges the gap between the demand for tech talent and skills aggregation in Singapore.
NTUC LHUB TTA was launched in January 2024 to attract and nurture tech talent in the country through sourcing, training, and placing talent into tech roles. As Singapore ramps up its talent pool for emerging technologies, it is imperative to first identify and consolidate the demand for required skills to develop relevant and up-to-date training programmes to groom such talent.
The integrated ecosystem is supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), SkillsFuture Singapore, and Workforce Singapore. Individuals interested in deepening their tech skills to branch into tech roles can look forward to high-quality and industry-relevant curriculum, as well as in career transition through NTUC LHUB’s supporting partners, NTUC's Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and PERSOLKELLY Singapore Pte Ltd, for the sourcing and placement of workers. NTUC LHUB and Tech Talent Assembly will also collaborate to curate, develop, and deliver training and mentor learners.
At the same time, companies with hiring needs to scale up their headcount in tech roles can tap into NTUC LHUB TTA’s talent pool to fill job vacancies.
The initiative is built on the momentum of being one of the five training partners appointed by the IMDA to scale upskilling and reskilling efforts in artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics with an emphasis on generative AI, cloud and mobility, and software engineering, with a target of 18,000 workers in tech roles over the next three years.
During the event’s launch, NTUC LearningHub formalised partnerships with various agencies and leading organisations, namely AvePoint, Ensign Infosecurity, GECO Asia, NCS, Nityo Infotech, and UOB, to establish cooperation for the placement of candidates into tech roles.
In recognition of the need for workers to acquire essential and emerging technology skills, NTUC LearningHub also launched the “X for Everyone” series of courses during the event to democratise the learning of foundational tech skills, with at least 6,000 trainees expected to benefit over the next two years. The courses on cloud computing, generative AI and cybersecurity awareness are developed to provide learners with a basic understanding of emerging technologies, including the key characteristics, concepts, and business value, to support both workers in the workplace and communities at large.
NTUC LearningHub’s strategic positioning and collaborative efforts with key partners underscore its commitment to shaping the future workforce in alignment with national imperatives, fortifying Singapore's position as a global leader in technology.
