Monty Mobile is honored to have been awarded 3 trophies by the Asian Telecom Awards in recognition for its achievements

The company won for its achievements in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

Monty Mobile is a global fast growing telecommunication company offering innovative technology and communication solutions. It provides cutting-edge digital products and services for mobile network operators, enterprises, and service providers across different industries.

Today, Monty Mobile is a renowned key regional player in the telecommunications business. It has collaborated with more than 500 mobile operators and service providers globally, including Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

Monty Mobile received three major recognitions in the recently concluded Asian Telecom Awards hosted by the Asian Business Review:

  • International A2P SMS Monetization of the Year – Indonesia
  • International A2P SMS Monetization of the Year - Sri Lanka
  • Technology Innovation of the Year – Indonesia

The awards programme traces its heritage from the Asian Mobile News which was launched in 2003, to recognise the remarkable achievements and initiatives of leading telecom companies in Asia.

For its first award, Monty Mobile was given the International A2P SMS Monetization of the Year – Indonesia for its collaboration with four of the top Mobile Network Operators in Indonesia. The judges have recognised Monty Mobile’s achievement in having these top Indonesian-based mobile telecommunication companies as its A2P SMS clients.

It was also lauded for providing good service for a reasonable market price, and for offering quality customer service to these clients.

In addition, Monty Mobile earned the “International A2P SMS Monetization of the Year” prize, for similar efforts done in Sri Lanka. It is worth mentioning that judges took into consideration Monty Mobile’s exclusive partnership with the national mobile network Operator in Sri Lanka. The latter signed an exclusive SMS Gateway management deal with Monty Mobile in 2021, which has enabled them to protect their network against all types of A2P SMS fraud and spam whilst monetising their international A2P SMS traffic and increasing their revenues.

Lastly, the third award for Technology Innovation of the Year – Indonesia was granted to Monty Mobile’s solution aiming to prevent flash calls.

A flash call is an automated missed call that can verify users during the registration process of an application. It is a method used by applications or OTTs with the last few digits of the number used in order to bypass the usual SMS verification code.

Apart from the security risks, flash calls are considered a threat because there are no charges made through the calls, thus leading to revenue loss and non-monetised channels for international A2P verification traffic.

Monty Mobile is pushing this technology even further by offering different ways to prevent and block flash call threats. In the absence of applicable existing core networks and tools, Monty Mobile comes in to deploy solutions that can fight and block these threats and secure MNO revenues.
