Gosoft (Thailand) Co., Ltd. clinches Thailand Technology Excellence Awards 2024 for search engine capabilities

It is being utilised as a core search engine by 2.4 million active 7-Eleven Delivery customers.

Information technology system consulting and development firm Gosoft (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was honoured with Thailand Technology Excellence Award in the AI - Retail category for the launch of its search engine goSearch, which is specifically designed for Thai retail businesses and leverages advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques.

With the use of smart technologies, goSearch creates a customised experience for every user through awareness of user preferences, anticipating their needs and matching those with a large catalogue of consumer products in the entire country.

Moreover, it can curate search experiences that are not only more relevant, accurate, and personalised, but are also aligned with users’ intentions to click on products of interest, catering to the varying needs of users, ensuring that search results stay trendy and up-to-date, and optimising speed for seamless navigation. The core capabilities of goSearch are built on modernised stacks.

goSearch is being utilised as a core search engine, serving around 2.4 million active 7-Eleven Delivery users across the nation. Gosoft leverages a data-driven approach to enhance the retailer’s capabilities, providing its customers with natural language processing in product searches as well as personalisation throughout the end-to-end shopping journey.

With goSearch’s capabilities equipped as a search engine behind the 7-Eleven platform, the average click-through rate is measured at 99.3% in 2024, with the add-to-cart rate increasing by 21%. The system also ensures uniqueness and boosts click-through rates by prioritising popular ranking search results, which helps reshape the retail landscape and decreases search journey time by approximately three seconds per search.

“We are exploring opportunities for the expansion of goSearch’s capabilities moving forward. These include the implementation of additional integrations with other retail businesses, expansion to external retail players within the Southeast Asia region on comparable use cases through architecting for multitenancy and cost-effective strategies, and leveraging generative AI to improve search and product recommendations,” said Wiwat Pongritsakda, Managing Director at Gosoft (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
