EZZAH ELIA & ASSOCIATES was honoured with the Excellence Award - Legal and Initiative  Award - Legal at the Malaysia National Business Awards 2026. 

This recognition reflects the firm’s contributions in corporate legal advisory, infrastructure development, corporate governance, and public legal education in Malaysia, aligned with its commitment to sustainable and responsible legal practice in line with the United Nations  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Founded in June 2015, EZZAH ELIA & ASSOCIATES is a Malaysian law firm providing legal services across corporate advisory, conveyancing, litigation, company secretarial services, and commissioner for oaths matters. 

The firm’s legal practice is supported by documented workflows, internal review procedures, and coordinated planning across departments to ensure consistency and quality in service delivery. The firm has served more than 10,000 clients across infrastructure projects, corporate governance matters, and institutional advisory engagements. 

Legal advisory in infrastructure and sustainable development 
Infrastructure and sustainability-linked developments form a significant part of the firm’s legal practice, supporting projects that contribute to long-term economic and environmental resilience (aligned with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy). 

Advisory engagements include legal documentation and structuring for treated effluent supply arrangements supporting data centre operations. These agreements address operational dependencies, regulatory requirements, risk allocation, and long-term supply frameworks involving multiple stakeholders in the water and technology sectors. 

Legal advisory also extends to renewable energy developments, including solar collaboration agreements covering land use arrangements, development rights, and funding responsibilities linked to regulatory requirements and project operations. 

Corporate advisory work includes advising Permodalan Darul Ta’zim Sdn Bhd on the agreement framework governing its strategic partnership with EcoWorld and SD Guthrie in connection with the Eco Business Park 8 development in Kulai, Johor, with an estimated value of RM2.3b. The engagement involved structuring the legal framework for the collaboration and preparing the partnership agreement regulating the joint development arrangement, supporting the formal execution of the strategic partnership and the implementation of the large-scale project. 

Between 2024 and 2025, the firm facilitated transactions with a total SPA value of RM332m and a facility amount of RM271m across its corporate and infrastructure advisory work. 

Bringing legal knowledge to wider audiences 
Public legal education initiatives form another key component of the firm’s work, reflecting its commitment to improving access to legal knowledge (aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education). 

Lawyers conduct legal sharing sessions with universities, legal forums, and community organisations, covering topics such as property transactions, company compliance, and legal procedures relevant to businesses and individuals. 

Digital platforms expanded the reach of these initiatives. Short-form legal education content released through social media channels recorded a 366% increase in TikTok followers within one week after the release of focused educational videos. 

Digital transformation and sustainable legal practice 
Operational improvements have been implemented to support efficiency and sustainability within  the firm (aligned with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) 

Key initiatives include transition to digital documentation processes, resulting in a 20% reduction in paper usage. The firm also invested RM80,000 in digital platforms and tools supporting document management, internal coordination, and legal practice administration.
