EDOTCO Group gains win at Asian Experience Awards 2024

The company earned recognition for its service excellence across borders in the integrated telecommunications infrastructure services industry.

EDOTCO Group was awarded the Malaysia Customer Experience of the Year - Telecommunications honour at the Asian Experience Awards 2024, which recognised the company’s pioneering and pivotal milestone in advancing Malaysia's digital connectivity landscape.

Driving economic growth through wider 5G connectivity

As the region’s leading integrated telecommunications infrastructure services provider, EDOTCO Malaysia lived up to its reputation and successfully upgraded existing 4G towers with 5G connectivity in 2023. With this, the company reduced the need to build new infrastructure. This accomplishment is part of EDOTCO’s broader commitment—which began in 2021—to expand 5G infrastructure across Malaysia. To date, EDOTCO has enabled thousands of 5G sites nationwide.

Deemed a feat, this also underscores EDOTCO’s dedication to supporting the Malaysian government's goal of achieving 80% 5G coverage in populated areas by the end of the year.

EDOTCO focusses on future-proofing its digital infrastructure and adopting eco-friendly and energy-efficient practices, which sets a new standard in the telecommunications industry. This is also a key contributor to the Malaysian government’s vision for wider 5G connectivity, driving economic growth, and fostering innovation throughout the nation.

EDOTCO’s approach to expanding 5G capabilities has been deeply rooted in sustainability. By upgrading existing towers, the company has reduced the environmental impact of new tower construction, adopting eco-friendly and energy-efficient practices. With this, EDOTCO remains focussed on enhancing digital infrastructure to provide a solid foundation for businesses, communities, and individuals to thrive in a digitally connected world.

As Malaysia gears up for a more connected future, EDOTCO is at the forefront, driving digital connectivity and empowering the nation’s digital transformation.

Going beyond borders

Aside from the Malaysia-based company, EDOTCO Group in Pakistan and Sri Lanka has also reached milestones worthy of commendation.

EDOTCO Pakistan has significantly strengthened its partnership with a mobile network operator company that had aggressive network expansion following a merger. This partnership was not without challenges as it faced various hiccups along the way.

However, EDOTCO Pakistan was able to overcome these hurdles by implementing several key measures, such as enhanced communication, in which it improved dialogue to ensure better alignment and understanding; increased transparency by fostering a more open relationship to address issues; and commercial negotiations that addressed unfavourable contract terms through negotiations and repriced services. It also observed operational efficiency by delivering 500 sites over three years, revised the learning & development (LD) mechanism, reduced energy gaps, and streamlined billing.

These efforts have led to a substantial increase in the Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) score over three years - reflecting the company’s commitment to top-tier service delivery and its contribution to expanding digital connectivity coverage. EDOTCO’s support in the partnership achieved significant success and contributed to the broader goal of shaping future connectivity across Pakistan.

EDOTCO Sri Lanka, meanwhile, has introduced its first advertising LED panel within its network of smart lamp poles. This network comprises nearly 700 strategically placed smart lamp poles across the country. The LED panel launch is anticipated to boost sales and revenue by enhancing brand visibility and driving customer engagement.

Additionally, EDOTCO Sri Lanka has collaborated with a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions to integrate EV charging stations into its lamp poles. This initiative addresses the growing need for a comprehensive EV charging network in Sri Lanka.

With these innovative projects, EDOTCO Sri Lanka was able to diversify its revenue streams effectively. The company also achieved outstanding capital expenditure synergies, energy efficiencies, and improved carbon efficiencies after it transformed its lamp poles into multi-purpose assets. This approach sets a new precedent in the tower industry, demonstrating how infrastructure can be leveraged for multiple use cases and generate additional revenue.

EDOTCO Group’s accolade underscores its relentless dedication to elevating customer satisfaction, expanding digital connectivity and infrastructure, as well as pioneering sustainable solutions across the region.
