Ecolab brings home Asian Management Excellence Awards for Health and Wellness Initiative

The company has made efforts to recognise employee performance and provides resources promoting well-being.

Sustainability leader offering water, hygiene, and infection solutions, Ecolab clinched the Thailand Health and Wellness Initiative of the Year - Chemicals category win at the inaugural Asian Management Excellence Awards for its employee wellbeing strategy, which promotes a healthy workforce by creating a supportive work environment to contribute to the company’s overall success.

Whilst Ecolab management focussed on the working environment the previous year and calibrated strategy this year to emphasise the employees’ mental health.

At the beginning of the year, the company’s Engagement Day Activity was organised, boosting positivity and bringing people together. The event is a way to celebrate the year, acknowledge employees' achievements and gratitude for the associates' dedicated work, and build collaborative teams.

With the current global environment, Ecolab recognised that increased financial education and readiness will help associates improve concentration and productivity whilst at work. It has organised a series of financial wellness trainings throughout the year as part of this undertaking to help associates with debt management and provide them with sufficient information about investment plans, retirement plans, and other benefits.

Ecolab is aware that potential burnout is real in workplaces, and during the second quarter of the year, the company conducted a burnout and stress awareness programme, during which the associates learned practical strategies for managing stress.

Ecolab launched the online mental health programme during the year’s third quarter. This leveraged technology by conducting psychological counselling with professional psychologists through a mobile app to ease employee access and privacy.

With its focus on helping drive employee satisfaction and offer a better work-life balance, the company launched a hybrid workplace setup and ergonomic workstations.

Kitigan Suksomthin, country manager said, “Ecolab strives to provide comprehensive and market-competitive benefits to meet the aspirations of our associates and their families. We offer benefits to support our associates’ health and wellness. We also offer benefits designed to promote our associates’ financial well-being, including short- and long-term financial incentives and retirement income and planning.”

The Asian Management Excellence Awards celebrates the finest business leaders, innovators, and companies in Asia and commends exceptional achievements in various aspects of operations, including employee engagement programmes, diversity and inclusion projects, and health and wellness initiatives.
