Singapore leads Southeast Asia climate-tech funding

The city-state accounted for about $872m of the region’s disclosed climate-tech equity funding.

Singapore led Southeast Asia’s climate-tech funding, accounting for about $872m of the region’s total disclosed equity funding of around $1.1b, according to Tracxn.

The report tracked 268 funding rounds across Southeast Asia’s climate-tech sector up to June 2026 year-to-date.

Singapore was well ahead of Indonesia, which recorded $162m in funding, and Vietnam, which recorded $53m.

Several of the region’s most-funded climate-tech companies are headquartered in Singapore, including Beam with $135m, Amperesand with $93m, and Neuron with $81m.

Four of the five most-funded companies in Southeast Asia are in electric mobility, including Singapore-based Beam and Neuron. Amperesand, which focuses on smart-grid hardware, was the only non-mobility company in the top five.

Across the region, solid waste management tech was the top-funded sector at $105m, followed by smart grid at $97m.

Amperesand’s $80m Series A accounted for a major share of smart-grid funding, whilst Green Li-ion’s $41m Series A supported funding in solid waste management tech.

In 2026 year-to-date, Singapore recorded activity through Polybee Systems’ $4m seed round and NEU Battery Materials’ undisclosed seed round.

Singapore also played a key role in investor activity, with government-linked SEEDS Capital and SGInnovate amongst the five most active investors in the region. SEEDS Capital participated in 15 rounds, whilst SGInnovate joined eight rounds, mainly at seed and early stage.

Tracxn said Southeast Asia’s climate-tech ecosystem remains largely seed and early-stage, with nearly all disclosed equity capital deployed at those stages.

The ecosystem has recorded 20 acquisitions and 10 public listings to date, with acquisitions concentrated in Singapore.
