How premiums surged 42% in Taiwan’s foreign-currency market in August

Investment-linked insurance products generated $1.4b during the month.

Premium revenues from new foreign-currency denominated life insurance policies in Taiwan reached about $9.0b (NT$271.8b) as of the end of August 2025, according to data from the Insurance Bureau.

This was up 42% from $6.3b (NT$191.8b) a year earlier.

Investment-linked insurance products generated $1.4b (NT$42.3b), accounting for about 16% of total sales and rising 42% from $1.0b (NT$29.8b) in the same period last year. 

Traditional insurance products made up the remaining 84% of sales, totaling $7.6b (NT$229.5b), also up 42% from $5.3b (NT$162.0b) a year earlier.
