The company was recognised for the palm oil-focused story arcs in the series “Upin & Ipin.”
Les' Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd. secured recognition at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026, winning in the Animation Story Telling - Malaysia and Audience-Centric Multi-Platform Solutions - Malaysia categories for its “Upin & Ipin” palm oil-focused story arcs. The company was recognised for projects integrating storytelling, education, and multi-platform audience engagement.

The projects “Minyak Sawit” and “Hero Minyak Sawit” presented industry topics through structured narratives designed for children and family audiences across television and digital channels. The recognition carries added significance as 2026 also marks a major milestone for the company and its iconic franchise. Currently in “Upin & Ipin” Season 20, the series has now reached its 20th year on air, reflecting two decades of continuous storytelling, audience support, and regional cultural impact. The achievement underscores the brand’s ability to remain relevant across generations whilst continuing to evolve through meaningful educational content and multi-platform engagement. Winning at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards during this milestone year further reinforces the enduring influence of “Upin & Ipin” as one of Southeast Asia’s most recognised animated properties.
The “Minyak Sawit” trilogy formed part of “Upin & Ipin” Season 18 and examined the palm oil value chain through structured narrative development. It addressed plantation operations, downstream applications, and the sector’s contribution to Malaysia’s economy. Sustainability elements were incorporated, including biomass reuse, replanting practices, and biodiversity considerations. Visual aids appeared within scenes to clarify technical processes and industry mechanisms. Distribution extended across ASEAN television networks as well as digital platforms, with the trilogy reaching 103 million views on YouTube. Educators and parents subsequently referenced the episodes in both classroom instruction and informal learning contexts, demonstrating the series’ effectiveness in translating industry knowledge into accessible educational entertainment for younger audiences.
“Upin & Ipin” Season 19 introduced the “Hero Minyak Sawit” arc, aligned with Audience-Centric Multi-Platform Solutions - Malaysia. The episodes centred on a palm oil festival setting, where characters engaged with related campaigns and activities whilst integrating explanations of sustainability practices and industry functions throughout the narrative. Content was released across television, streaming platforms, and social media channels, accumulating more than 43 million views on YouTube. Audience responses were recorded across digital platforms, reflecting strong engagement among viewers across the region. Development of the project included collaboration with the Malaysian Palm Oil Council to maintain alignment with current industry references and educational objectives.
Production for both projects adhered to the timelines set within their respective seasons. Existing character assets were retained whilst environmental modelling was updated to reflect plantation settings with greater accuracy. Educational material was embedded within the animation format without altering the established structure and entertainment value of the series. Distribution across regional broadcast networks and digital platforms further supported continued audience access and long-term content discoverability.
Audiences who wish to watch the full award-winning episodes can stream them via the official Les' Copaque YouTube channel, as well as on Astro and Netflix.
