AgriS wins at Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026 for agriculture innovation
The company earned recognition for leadership-led transformation that strengthened resilience, governance, and global reach.
AgriS won Vietnam Team of the Year - Agriculture in the Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026, following a year marked by market volatility and operational pressure across the global agricultural sector. The recognition highlighted the role of the company’s Board of Management in steering performance, governance reform, and long-term stability.
During the fiscal year, AgriS maintained annual revenue above US$1b despite falling commodity prices and weaker demand in several markets. This performance reflected deliberate diversification across more than 200 agricultural products, spanning sugar, coconut, banana, pineapple, rice, and other categories. The broader portfolio reduced reliance on a single commodity and supported more stable planning across production and supply chains.
International expansion also remained a priority. Export activity increased to nearly 80 markets, up from 69 in the previous FY, as the company deepened its presence across Asia, Europe, and other regions. This growth supported greater visibility for Vietnamese agricultural products whilst spreading commercial risk during a difficult global cycle.
Internally, the Board of Management focused on governance and structural reform. The company completed its transition to a unified holding model under the One AgriS – One System approach, aligning commercial, production, and agricultural operations. This structure strengthened coordination across the organisation and supported more consistent decision-making. Core values of fairness, transparency, responsibility, and accountability guides the reforms, alongside solid organisational platform built on governance, people, processes, and technology.
Financial resilience remained another key focus. AgriS expanded its supply chain finance programme to support liquidity and partner stability, whilst advancing towards a long-term funding target of VND60,000b by 2030. The Board also secured USD100m in financing from DEG – (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft – a leading European development finance institution), alongside funding from FCB (First Commercial) and 15 Taiwanese financial institutions.
Digital capability underpinned these efforts. The Board established the foundation for an executive data infrastructure, including an integrated data and governance platform that centralised master data and improved reporting accuracy. A real-time strategic performance dashboard also supported closer monitoring of enterprise-wide indicators.
Sustainability and ESG integration remained embedded across AgriS’s operations. The company continued to be included in Vietnam’s VNSI20 (Vietnam Sustainability Index) for the eighth consecutive year, achieving an overall ESG score of 95%, with its Governance score reaching 92% - significantly higher than the sector average of 68%. This performance underscores AgriS’s sustained commitment to high standards of environmental, social, and corporate governance.
