Baiduri Bank honoured at Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026 with two accolades

The company received the win in the Brunei Executive of the Year - Banking and the Brunei Employee Engagement of the Year - Banking categories.

Banking firm Baiduri Bank, and its CEO Ti Eng Hui, have been commended at the Asian Management Excellence Awards 2026 for their efforts in becoming a digitally advanced, regionally connected, and financially resilient institution, whilst also strengthening employee engagement and career fulfilment through a comprehensive, people-first strategy.

Since becoming CEO in 2019, Ti has driven record performance: BND95.1m net profit in 2024, strong asset growth, and an improvement in return on assets to 2.28%, above the industry benchmark. This is all whilst maintaining an A-/A-2 credit rating for three consecutive years.

His strategic focus on innovation has also enabled Brunei’s first migration to a cloud-native core banking system, as well as the rollout of digital solutions such as Tap2Pay and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered credit modelling.

Regionally, Ti has expanded Baiduri Bank’s footprint across ASEAN. The launch of the Baiduri Bank Representative Office, Singapore has strengthened the bank’s capacity to support corporates with cross-border financing, trade facilitation, and regional partnerships.

Committed to sustainable and inclusive growth, he has also established a comprehensive Sustainability Framework – the Baiduri Greenprint – and appointed the bank’s first Head of Sustainability in March 2025 to spearhead ESG integration across all operations and align its practices with globally recognised sustainability principles and responsible banking. The bank has also advanced financial literacy through the launch of its Financial Wellness Centre.

Under Ti’s guidance, the bank has strengthened its reputation, supported national development priorities, and emerged as a credible advocate for responsible innovation across the region. As such, he has been named as the Brunei Executive of the Year - Banking in the awards programme.

Future-ready workforce

Baiduri Bank has recently launched initiatives focused on developing a resilient, future-ready workforce grounded in continuous learning, wellbeing, and open communication. Guided by the Baiduri Greenprint, its engagement strategy ensures that every initiative is aligned with the bank’s values.

Amongst the key efforts that the bank has made are data-driven development, such as the Annual Employee Experience Survey that provides actionable insights on wellbeing, leadership, and career growth. Since 2021, survey heatmaps have shifted from areas of concern to strong, organisation-wide improvements.

Notably, the bank recorded a 79% engagement rate, surpassing global and Asia Pacific benchmarks, whilst five departments have earned the Green Seal, a distinction for consistently achieving scores above 80% across multiple categories.

For these milestones, Baiduri Bank won the Brunei Employee Engagement of the Year - Banking accolade. “By reinforcing our commitment to lifelong learning, this initiative positions Baiduri Bank as a future-ready organisation and empowers employees to remain competitive in an AI-driven era,” it said.
