ING posts record half with US$78.8b in sustainable finance deals

APAC made up 13% of all transaction volumes, behind the EMEA and Americas.

ING delivered its strongest half on record in the realm of sustainable finance, mobilising EUR68b (approximately US$78.75b) in the first six months of 2025.

This is 19% higher than what was recorded in H1 2024, the Dutch bank said in a press release.

Green loans showed robust growth, with a 48% increase in the number of transactions and a 17% rise in volumes in Q2, compared to Q2 2024.

Sustainability-linked loans remained ING’s leading product category, followed by green bonds and then green loans, the bank said.

Amongst regions, the Asia Pacific region (APAC) saw strong growth in sustainable lending and debt capital markets. The region made up 13% of ING’s sustainable finance transaction volumes.

EMEA remained the largest contributor at 61%, followed by the Americas making up 26% of the volume.
