Erajaya Digital opens its biggest electronics store

The branch is its 80th concept store out of about a thousand branches nationwide.

PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (Erajaya Digital) has launched its biggest electronics store in Bandung, West Java as part of a bigger plan to boost its presence in major cities across Indonesia.

The company’s 459-square-meter Erafone & More concept store — three times the usual size of its outlets — features a wider selection of leading electronics brands, including smartphones and home appliances.

The branch, the 80th Erafone & More concept store out of more than a thousand Erafone stores nationwide, also has more demo units, facilities for people with disabilities, and an exclusive VIP room.

“Customers can experience the touch and feel of demo products while consulting with in-store experts,” Djunadi Satrio, head of corporate communications at Erajaya Group, said on the sidelines of the launch in February.

The concept store allows customers who have already researched products online to check and buy these in-store, Satrio said. “This allows them to directly assess product quality and consistency.”

The company chose Dago in Bandung as the site of its newest branch not only because it is a business hub but also a centre for education and tourism, attracting high footfall throughout the week.

“We hope this store will not only be a shopping destination but also a lifestyle hub that enhances the identity of the area,” Satrio said.

Erajaya Digital is partnering with banks and financing firms to give customers flexible payment options at the branch, which also serves as a regional office and distribution centre, he said.

"We are also leveraging our Click N’ Pickup omnichannel service, allowing customers to complete their transactions online and conveniently collect their purchases in-store,” he added.

Erajaya Digital’s nine-month net income last year rose 60% to $48.3m (Rp791b) from a year earlier. Sales grew 13.5% to $3b (Ro48.6t).

"With an expanding retail network, Erajaya Digital aims to continue providing relevant technology solutions for the Indonesian market," Satrio said.
