XR SUMMITS SDN BHD recognised at Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026
The company advanced XR and AI-generated content across Southeast Asia through summits, university labs, and hackathons.
XR SUMMITS SDN BHD received an accolade in the Initiative Award - Malaysia for AI-XR Production category at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2026 for its work in advancing Extended Reality (XR), virtual production, and AI-generated content across Southeast Asia.
The recognition reflects the company’s role in connecting broadcasters, universities, technology providers, content creators, and industry stakeholders through programmes focused on immersive media production, real-time workflows, and AI-assisted content creation.
Through initiatives such as the four editions of XR Asia Summit in Malaysia and Jakarta XR Festival Day, organised in collaboration with PFN Indonesia in 2023, XR SUMMITS SDN BHD introduced industry participants to real-time production environments, XR workflows, virtual production systems, and AI-assisted content creation. These programmes brought together broadcasters, filmmakers, educators, technology companies, and creative professionals to exchange technical knowledge and production practices related to immersive storytelling and virtual production.
One of the key projects within the wider group ecosystem, together with its sister company, was the development of the first integrated XR Lab in Malaysia at Taylor’s University. The facility combined XR technologies, virtual production systems, and broadcast workflows within a university environment, allowing students, educators, and industry participants to work with professional production tools. The lab also supported experimentation with hybrid broadcast workflows, real-time content production, and industry-relevant learning pathways for the next generation of media professionals.
As a proof of concept in 2022, the lab demonstrated how XR infrastructure could support training, education, content development, hybrid broadcasting, research labs, academic facilities, and professional production environments.
Today, XR SUMMITS SDN BHD continues to move AI•XR from concept-led discussions into practical deployment. Its work shows how immersive technologies can be applied across broadcasting, education, film production, live events, enterprise training, digital content creation, and emerging spatial media applications.
The company’s AI-generated Content (AIGC) learning programme further expands its initiatives in AI-assisted filmmaking. Conducted through AI filmmaking hackathons across five universities, the programme introduced participants to generative AI tools, AI-supported production methods, and immersive storytelling techniques for short film production. The initiative concludes with a regional creative challenge linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, encouraging participants to explore how emerging technologies can support social impact, education, sustainability, and creative innovation.
Industry activities under XR SUMMITS SDN BHD also include workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and masterclasses focused on XR production, LED volume systems, virtual production workflows, in-camera visual effects, real-time engines, and cloud-connected broadcast production. These programmes involved collaboration with international speakers, production specialists, educators, broadcast professionals, and technology providers from the broadcast and creative industries.
Beyond the creative and broadcast sectors, XR SUMMITS SDN BHD is also opening conversations with key vertical markets where AI•XR can be deployed in practical and high-impact ways. These include medical and healthcare training, military simulation, aviation safety and technical training, tourism experiences, cultural heritage, immersive attractions, enterprise learning, digital twin applications, and AI roleplay-based training.
This wider industry engagement reflects the company’s focus on positioning AI•XR not only as a content and production tool, but also as a deployable solution for training, simulation, education, scenario-based learning, public engagement, operational planning, and future-ready industry transformation. Through AI roleplay, immersive environments, and digital twins, organisations can create realistic simulations for decision-making, communication training, emergency response, customer engagement, and workforce development.
Founder and CEO Louis Clovis has more than 38 years of experience across broadcasting, film production, education, and live events. Under his leadership, XR SUMMITS SDN BHD has expanded its regional activities in immersive media, broadcast technology, virtual production, and AI-driven content development across Southeast Asia. His work focuses on bridging industry, education, technology, and vertical market adoption to support the practical deployment of XR and AI within the region’s creative economy and wider industrial ecosystem.
